We want Avakins to have the freedom to express themselves, whilst ensuring a safe, inclusive environment and supporting our diverse community.  We use a combination of self-help tools, content filtering, automated detection and human moderation to keep Avakin Life safe and enjoyable for everyone.  

Message filter 

We filter in-game chat messages, usernames and any other in-game text to block inappropriate content and personal information. Messages may appear starred out, or the entire message will not appear, depending on the severity of the message. 

Does Avakin filter chat messages?
Yes. We use automated filtering software that scans chat messages in real time to catch and block harmful content — things like hate speech, harassment, explicit content, and personal information sharing (like phone numbers or addresses).

How does the filter decide what to block?
The system checks messages against a constantly updated list of banned words, phrases, and patterns, including common ways people try to disguise inappropriate language (like swapping letters for symbols).

We're rolling out improvements to our chat filter to help improve communication across Avakin Life!
Here's what you can expect:

  • :speech_bubble: Fewer messages being completely starred out, making conversations easier to follow.
  • :shield: Improved filtering across chat and Usermail to help keep communication safe and enjoyable.
